One week is enough to see the three faces of Morocco properly - the theatre of Marrakech, the Atlantic modernity of Casablanca and the luminous edge of Tangier - without ever feeling rushed. Days 1-3: Marrakech, the Red City
Settle into a private riad in the medina. Day one is for arriving slowly - breakfast on the roof, a walk through the souks with a guide who is known there, an evening rooftop table over Jemaa el-Fna. Day two goes deeper: Le Jardin Secret, the artisan workshops off Mouassine, a traditional hammam. Day three heads out to the Agafay desert for a golden-hour dinner under the stars.
Day 4: Marrakech to Casablanca
A private transfer along the highway (about three hours) with a stop as you like. Arrive on the Atlantic for a change of tempo - ocean air, art-deco boulevards and a sunset seafood dinner on the Corniche.
Day 5: Casablanca
A late-morning guided tour of the Hassan II Mosque, one of the few open to visitors, with the light coming off the sea through the hall. Lunch in the Habous quarter, an afternoon at leisure, and the city's best table booked for the evening.
Days 6-7: Tangier, Gateway of Two Seas
North to Tangier, where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic. Mint tea at Cafe Hafa above the strait, the Kasbah with a local storyteller, and - if the timing suits - an early day trip to Chefchaouen, the blue city, before the crowds. A fitting, luminous finish.
